潮州陶瓷是广东省著名的汉族传统制瓷工艺之一。历史悠久。从境内陈桥村贝丘遗址中，可以看出，早在6000多年前，先民便在此繁衍生息和冶陶，而北关古窑址、南关古窑址和笔架山宋代窑址（同见条目）的发掘，也说明至少在唐高宗仪凤－－调露初年（公元676－679年），潮州已有较大规模的陶瓷生产，并出现了釉下点褐彩瓷器。潮州作为宋代的广东瓷都，其中心产区就在潮州城四围。如今，潮州已获“中国瓷都”称号，全市有相当大规模的陶瓷生产。
